Unity In Millington On MLK Day
I just enjoyed a wonderful worship and celebration for the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at First United Methodist Church in conjunction with St. James CME Church. Today was a wonderful beginning of practicing UNITY in Millington. The first Martin Luther King, Jr. Brotherhood Award in Millington was awarding to a deserving woman in the Millington area, Ms. Geraldine from the Millington Crisis Center, who tirelessly volunteered at the Millington Crisis Center for twenty years. Ms. Geraldine was not in attendance to receive her award because she is ill and is in the hospital. I pray and I hope the readers of this site pray that she get well soon.
The art displayed in the fellowship hall was AWESOME..the following piece is my favorite!
A message from this morning celebration fuels my soul and life was mentioned by the Reverend Judge otis W. Higss, Jr…
If dreams die, life is like a broken winged bird that cannot fly~Langston Hughes
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
